I believe it’s every boy’s fantasy to see Transformer made into a movie, well, at least for those who grew up during the 80’s. It just like girls would hope to see Jem in movie, no?!!
This summer all of us had fulfilled our childhood dream, Transformer finally come into theater.
I watched the preview last night, hmmm, how should I put it? It could be a nightmare watching your childhood superheroes become so corny and nauseating.
I like the special effects and there’s no doubt about it. I had goose bumps all over when I saw Optimus Prime transforming, not to mention the cheering and claps from the audience. And there where some funny plots in the beginning when Bumble Bee first appeared.
What I couldn’t stand are those slow-mo scenes and the All-American-Spirit throughout the movie! When I saw those scenes, I was like ‘Good god, enough already!!!’ Tell me please, can you stand scene like boy struggling and almost burst into tears when he saw Bumble Bee trapped down by the soldiers? So what, are we suppose to cry? And, dialogues like “I just wanna tell you, I have no regrets riding that car with you” or “Son, you did a good course for the human race”, oh come on!!! Don’t you think it’s sooo corny?
I also realized that there were many face close up shoots for the leading actress in slow motion (Yes, Michael Bay is all about slow-mo!). Yeah yeah, I know she’s hot but don’t you think it’s a bit too much? Are we watching Transformer or watching some sun tanning product commercials?
Well, so far only 3 person have the same thoughts as mine while the rest (of the office) was like “It’s the movie of the year!”, “The best summer blockbuster so far”, “I’m gonna watch it over and over again.” Some even doubt that I was a Transformer cartoon fan based on my remarks. Please ~~~, I even have a Transformer toy (it's Ram Horn and I still have it at home), what do you think?
